Media inventory available to users other than superadmins?

Hi,

Should media inventory be available to users other than super admins?

I've created a new group, given this group access to the displays menu option and added this group to one display within the list of displays. When logging in as a user who is a member of the group, I only have access to setting the default layout for this display.

This would be useful for me to be able to give the technicians access to their own screens and the means to troubleshoot issues.

I think its a good idea Matt - problem is that at the moment the "display group -> user group" security setting is not really rich enough.

It is being used to determine which displays are available for that users to schedule items against, rather than which can edit.

It would be better if we could extend this concept to be more like the "Permissions" button on the layout/library items. Or perhaps mediainventory comes under the "view" permission?

Perhaps you could submit a blueprint for this and target it to 1.5?
