Two Clients on One Machine

Asked by Oliver Webb

Hi,

I've been asked to look into setting up two new screens - one in the male changing rooms and one in the female changing rooms. The client machines will have to be in the office next door. Is it possible to run two clients on the same machine (python clients, not Windows)?.

I will play around with this soon, I just wondered if anyone had done it, or heard it could be done?

Many thanks

Ollie

In principle it's possible.

You'd probably need to set them up as separate X sessions on each head but other than that it should work. How responsive the resulting system is is another matter. It's not something I've ever tried.

Should it maybe be better to use a DVI splitter?

Would a DVI splitter enable a different output on each screen? Each changing room needs different content.

A DVI/HDMI splitter would only show the same output on both screens.
