client connection problem: error 400, 404

Hello

I am trying to modify the server side of the xibo and i've done it. Now I copied all the server source code to create a new server in another machine. Everything worked fine during the xibo server installation process. However, when I attempt to register my client to the server, i got the error messages : 400 and 404. I checeked that my server works fine but client can not able to connect the server for a reason.

PS: The serve code is taken from another server with the fireftp extension. Since I changed some pictures and texts on it.

What can be the connection problem, I did not understand ?

Without knowing what it is you modified in the server it's impossible to say how it's broken.

Hi Alex.

We just modified some img files in server side like login box and other kind things in order to make it much more same as our own companies colors.

Also on the login screen we changed only some of the text files from source code.

Thats all we did as modificitaions. Also I have to mention that we used index.php, install.php and upgrade.php files from original 1.2.2 server source code since they were not inside our folder that we got from fireftp. (only index.php was there but in a corrupted way for somehow.)

Could that be a problem? Because we install server without any problem but whenever we tried to communicate with a client we got error 404 or 400.

I hope that will clearify a bit our question.

Well error 404 is file not found which would suggest you're missing at least one file from somewhere.

Error 400 is malformed request. No idea what could be causing that.

What do you get if you visit your server's xmds.php page:

http://server/path/xmds.php?wsdl

Please ensure that you've read and understand the license terms for AGPLv3 if you're modifying the server. You must offer your users a copy of the license and you must offer them source code. You must not remove the copyright assignments from the code. There may be other limitations or restrictions - I am not a lawyer.

Generally we see people remove the source and copyright links from the login page. Please ensure you still comply with the license if you're doing that.

Thanks for the quick reply Alex. Visiting the link you gave did not respond so I go and check xmds.php file. And somehow It is also corrupted like the index.php I got from ex-server files. After switching it out with original file from 1.2.2, It starts to communicate with my clients. So yeah it works like a charm.

About copyright issues. We did not change any of the links or about sides from server that we are doing. All still goes to corresponding homepage of xibo still. I dont know if it s not legal to change the splash screen or other images tough. So if it is problamatic just inform me about it and i ll fix it back.

You are welcome to change the splashscreen and other images in the client - provided the copyright notice and sourde code link in the about form remains the same.

Yes that is what exactly we did on modifications. And I can say that Xibo is a perfect solution for digital signage. Thanks a lot to you guys for creating such a good one.
