Flash animation with blue background plays as black background

Asked by ktecho

Hi guys,

I'm doing some tests to Xibo, but we've seen that a flash animation which has blue background plays as black background. As I've found, you can choose the background color in the Layout definition, but how can I simply put no background color in order to let the flash file plays with its own background color?

Sorry if it's answered in some place. I've only seen a reference to transparent background being rendered in white.

Cheers,

Luis Miguel

Versions of Xibo for Windows prior to about 1.3.1 I think used the .net Flash control to play back Flash content. Versions after that use Internet Explorer and will work exactly as if your file were embedded in a webpage.

Alex, thanks a lot for the reply. I'm using Xibo 1.3.2 but the flash still plays with the background color that I choose in the Layout, not the one in the flash animation. Do you want me to test something or provide some more info?

The client sets the background colour to be transparent. That can't be modified as it's what's wanted almost all the time and at the moment there's no provision to signal not to do that.

You could either manually embed the file (using the Embedded HTML media type instead and hosting the flash file on a webserver) or alter your flash item so that there's a coloured rectangle shown at the back instead.

OK, I understand. But you do think it should be possible to change this behaviour by changing some parameter in the .NET client, right? If so, we can modify it to suit our customer. Will provide patches in this question just if someone need them.

It may be worth creating a wishlist bug targeted to 1.3.3 to have an option for this?

Done, but I think I cannot convert it to wishlist?
