touchscreen override

Asked by blammo

All,

The reason I started working with the Digital signage in the first place, was to set up some interactive check in/out boards.

Has anyone done any work with setting up XIBO to run with a touchscreen over-ride to swap out display to a local application? What I want to do (now that see how XIBO works) is to run a XIBO sign, and when the touch screen is activated by a user, to switch out the display to a local application (probably browser based) that I can build. And after some amount of time duration, the XIBO client will start up automatically again.

I guess this would be a sort of locally interruptable client mode of some sort.

This is likely not a suggestion that dev folks will want to hear, but . . . maybe another option, is to add in a XIBO control bar to the client, a potentially hot area (could be the whole screen) that could be in place or switched to to set another localized application to run. Is this more of a client do-hicky. Just typing as I think here.

In the end, I would like to swap out display of the signage process temporarily to a user interactive app (or XIBO service??)

thanks for listening . . .

Nothing like that exists at the moment Im afraid. If youd kindly add it to the blueprints section of Launchpad it will he considered for future development along with all the other suggestions in there.

Alex did this make the blueprints? I want to play a video when a touchscreen is pressed in a zone.
Thanks
