1600x900 sounds like a very strange resolution. I'd imagine it's native resolution will be 1920x1080. Your 16:9 layout will then fit it exactly.

I tried 1920x1080 resolution 16:9 and 16:10 layout but no luck, I've got black bar at top button 1.5 inches and left and right 3 inches.

I notice that when I quit the display pressing i then q keys and look current display resolution I saw 840x525, any configuration that I missed?

thanks

Xibo doesn't report the current display resolution.

I expect you're seeing some kind of popup from the TV itself suggesting that you're running it at that resolution - not the 1920x1080 that I expect it needs.

840x525 isn't 16:9 or 16:10 so you will get black borders.

If you run the display at the correct resolution - either 1366x768 or 1920x1080 and configure the client with whatever the true display resolution is, then it will work.

Until then, you'll always have black bands.

yes I really saw popup to my lcd screen when entering ubuntu desktop it say "PC 1920x1080". so this is what we do after entering ubuntu desktop.
1. go to terminal
2. cd /opt/xibo/pyclient/client/python/
3. ./run_always.sh then when exiting the xibo client display and I notice the changes of my desktop resolution from 1920x1080 to 840x525.

We already change the layout background from 1600x900 to 1920x1080 and set to 16:9.

what we missed for the config?

thanks

is there configuration to set resolution from site.cfg?

Yes - you have to tell the client what the screen resolution is in site.cfg.

can you give us a sample config?
we only set resolution from site.cfg if fullscreen is equal to false

Change the width to 1920, the height to 1080, and the fullscreen option to true and xibo will fill the screen.
