Background image colours on .net client

Asked by Steve Haines

Seems to be a problem with the background colours when an RSS feed or text is loaded over a background image in the .net client 1.2.2. Same layout works fine with Python client 1.3.0 or with a plain black or white background (no image).

Background is a PNG image with white and grey sections.
An RSS feed (BBC news) is set to scroll over the white section and this shows up with a yellow background.
A text ticker is set up to scroll along the bottom over a grey background and this shows up with a black background.

I don't particularly need a fix for this as I am mostly working with the Python client - just using .net for testing new layouts on my PC ,

Just found a similar problem sometime back on Answer #65229 with GIF images.

PNG images aren't supported for background images on the .net client.
Please use a JPEG. You may need to restart the client to clear the
problem.

I'm pretty sure we still list this in the known issues section on the
release notes.

Thanks - I did do a search on answers but didn't spot the PNG reference. Very impressed by your quick responses - far better than most paid for software support!
