Problem with opening the Xibo Installer start screen.

Asked by Schachter

We are following your instructions "Install on Windows." Everything worked fine, until we got to the part where we have to enter "http://localhost/xibo" in the address bar. We dont get the result that you describe and we are directed to "http://localhost/xampp" Could you help us as fast as possible please? Thank you!

It sounds like your XAMPP installation didn't work correctly... did you have to create the htdocs folder? What do you see when it directs you to localhost/xampp?

Yes, we were instructed to copy and then paste the htdocs into a newly created folder, which we did.
As soon as we enter "http://localhost/xibo" into the address bar, we see a blank white page, on top it says in bold letters "Indes of /xibo" and then below theres a link called "Parent Directory" which directs us to "http://localhost/xampp" and below this it says "Apache/2.2.17 (Win32) mod_ssl/2.2.17 OpenSSL/0.9.8o PHP/5.3.4 mod_perl/2.0.4 Perl/v5.10.1 Server at localhost Port 80"
The xampp page("http://localhost/xampp") is a orange website, on the welcome page it says
"Welcome to XAMPP for Windows! Congratulations:You have successfully installed XAMPP on this system!
Now you can start using Apache and Co. You should first try »Status« on the left navigation to make sure everything works fine. For OpenSSL support please use the test certificate with https://127.0.0.1 or https://localhost .Good luck, Kay Vogelgesang + Kai 'Oswald' Seidler" On the left hand side you could click on one of these options:

Can you try directing your browser to http://localhost/xibo/index.phpinstead?

You haven't extracted the Xibo server files in the correct place then.

I'm not an expert on XAMPP. I suggest you go over to one of their forums to get their software installed correctly.

Once you have XAMPP working properly, come back here if you're still having problems with Xibo. XAMPP is NOT part of Xibo and we can't offer support for it - sorry.

Can you help with this problem?
