Sounds to me like you're missing some files. Download a fresh copy of the
server, extract it over the top of your existing installation and then clear
your browser cache.

I download a fresh copy of the xibo-server.1.2.2.1.zip and check it's integrity with md5sum, the result is ok.
I delete the exixting xibo folder and extract from the zip into d:\xampp\htdocs\xibo and start xibo server installation process.
The instlallation was successfull but the same problem still happens.
I've already turned off XAMPP security & phpmyadmin security, but the problem still exist.

As you suggest this sounds like a problem with your environment - if the web server consistently cannot find the pages being requested.

Have you checked in the XAMPP logs to see if there is any indication of what the problem might be?

I'm also getting an Access Denied suddenly when trying to access MySQL admin page :

Welcome to phpMyAdmin

Error

MySQL said:
Cannot connect: invalid settings.

phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username and password in your configuration and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server.

It sounds like your XAMPP install is not working correctly (not your Xibo
install). Perhaps you could try installing again or using a different stack
such as WAMP?

Running Xibo yourself (not on a web host) does require a little web server
knowledge, if you are having real problems getting the web server working
correctly, perhaps you could consider a hosted option from one of the
companies in the Xibo directory?

I just insalled XAMPP and Xibo. Am getting exactly the same issues as outlined above. Has anyone found a solution yet? Does not look like there are any issues with XAMPP install, since it starts just fine. Sounds like there are some miss matched files or directories...

I just tried the exact same process as above but used FireFox browser instead of IE9. This works wih no issues using firefox. There is an issue with IE9. Nothing wrong with Xibo or XAMPP installation. I did nt have to change any of my installation procedures.

You may want to include a comment in the installation guide for people to use IE8 or firefox. Otherwise a lot people will fumble on this same issue...

Hi,

I've just installed the recommended version of XAMPP and Xibo installed with no errors, and I am getting the same Object Not Found, Error 404 messages whenever I click one of the Add Layout, Add Media etc buttons.

When I looked at Settings, Path Settings the Library Location was set to C://XiboLibrary/, when I had told it to be C:\XiboLibrary\ (as recommended). I changed this to C:\XiboLibrary\. As I have no content created yet I didn't expect this to fix the problem and it didn't.

This problem occurs on Internet Explorer 9, but works OK with Firefox 10.

Surely with so many people complaining of the same issue there is a fault in the setup for using IE9?

Quite right - it doesnt work in IE9 at the moment. There is a bug for this which I have linked to the question.

It will be resolved in the next release.

Can you help with this problem?
