On-screen text preview

I've noticed that in server 1.2.0, whenever I save text into a region, Xibo previews it without or with some but not all of the details of the text layout. For instance, the preview always shows the Times New Roman font (disregarding the actual chosen fontin the text editor), the preview ignores italic or bold text, and the preview will often not show text that has been centered (i.e. it will quite often preview it aligned to the left). Published layouts do however render correctly on my screens, i.e. correct font and correct left-center-right layout, just the way I intended them to be. I've encountered this problem across different setups (XP server, Vista server), with different browsers (IE, Firefox).

I think this is caused by default fonts in your browser.

If you don't select a font in the editor, but instead let it default (which we set to Arial or nearest Sans font) then when you preview it, because no specific font has been set your browser default is used instead.

I've tried here and if I specifically set a font then it works fine.

I've found out some more. Whenever I create a layout, and enter text without forcing a font, the browser chooses Times New Roman, as you predicted. However, when I subsequently edit the text in the layout to a different font, say Verdana, the preview keeps showing the standard font, Times New Roman. Whenever I create a new region, and choose my desired font the first time I enter text into the region, it displays fine-ish (see below).

Secondly, some text makeup keeps being 'forgotten' in the preview, most notably text underlining. It just doesn't show in the preview (bold and italic text works fine).

Thirdly, spaces or <enter> are largely ignored in the preview, the text in a region is cropped and the spaces I purposely put in my text seem to be dropped.

I have just recently begun exploring 1.2.0, however, 1.1.0 wouldn't have these problems. Is it because of the FCKEditor update in 1.2.0. If yes, can I revert back to an old version of it, and at the same time remain using xibo server 1.2.0?

Ok. Changing between ckeditor and fckeditor isn't trivial.

I'll file a bug with your observations and we'll look at it.
