Xibo won't run on Windows startup

Asked by MCS

I want to be able to turn on my computer and have xibo running automatically, however I am running into an issue at windows startup. The client tries to run and my mouse disappears, but my I can still see my desktop and not my xibo slide show. When I ctrl-alt-del and end the process I can open it manually, then it works fine. I'd rather just have it open up automatically on windows startup...

When Xibo installs it puts itself in the startup items for the user who installed the software.

If the mouse is disappearing it sounds like it's trying to start up but something is stopping it. I've never had that happen before, but it can take a long time to fully start, especially on older hardware as Windows has to finish loading and then the whole .net framework has to load too.

I've seen it take a couple of minutes from Windows desktop to the client being fully up and running.

If it works when you manually launch it but not on startup I really have no idea what could be causing it. Perhaps try installing the debug client instead and see if anything useful is logged?
