2 Monitors (different resolution) + 1 computer (Ubuntu 10.04) is it possible?

Asked by V

Hello, first of all I think your project is really good. An open source solution for digital signage is a great idea.

I've a computer with Ubuntu 10.04 (the version number can be changed if it's necessary) with an NVIDIA card that has 2 video-out.

I need to manage 2 monitors with different slides contents.

Can I use xibo?

I need to run a server (to load contents from a remote pc) and run 2 clients? or with a single client I can manage 2 monitors?
(server and client(s) are in the same computer)

                                    __First monitor (46" vertical orientation)
router --> Computer |__Second monitor (32" horizontal orientation)

Thanks in advance!

The simple answer is no you can't.

What you might be able to do is run two xservers and then you can run a different client instance in each display, but I've never tried to do that.

If you do get it to work I'd be interested to know.

I want to try with this:
Multiple (Virtual) X sessions

so, I think I can use a server plus 2 client. If I do get it work, I post again !
