Play layout at specific time only + background sound

Asked by Cruzer

Hi,

Currenty testing Xibo if its a good replacement fot our local cabletvstation. Searching through the questions we found out how to play large video files like 10GB. Works perfectly by juist replacing the video file on the client.

The question we have got, how do we schedule a layout with only 1 video at specicly set time like 18.00 hours every day and overrides the current layouts at exactly that time?

During the playback of our layout without videos with sound our radiostation is played thourgh the line-in of the onboard soundcard. When start a video the line should be disbaled. Currently we are use the little program http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/attachments/frodoplayer/3932d1090040566-line-mute-linetoggle1.1.zip to disable and enable the line-in. How can we execute this program from a layout? Should be great to control your sondcard within Xibo.

You can't get it to start exactly at 18:00 hours. You could do it with a
+60 second tollerance by adding a schedule for the layout at 18:00 hours
and then editing that schedule and ticking the "Priority" box. You'll
then need to configure your client collection interval to 60 seconds.

We don't have any support for controlling sound at the moment.

Ok thanks for the quick reply!

We need the option to start the video at exactly a specific time-maybe its a nice thing for the future. Start a specific layout at a specic time. In the mean time think we are keeping the current way of playout by start VLCLan in fullscreen mode by commandline with the help of a scheduling tool and killing the proccess of the XiboClient in the Windows Taskmanager.

Futhermore is its possible to start anycommandline tools from a layout? Maybe some Javascript page could handle this? If so the tool 'Linetoggle' could help to swap sounds within a layout. Does someone has a java script which this option or a link to a how-to?

Thx!
