Deletion of install.php in IIS with manual setup

Asked by Damien Kearns

I created a folder on my C:\ and then within IIS created a virtual directory to point to this directory.
The installation was seemless until the very end section where an attempt to delete install.php fails.
Just wondering what rights/settings should be placed on the virtual directory to permit the install script to delete the necessary files:
At the moment I have Read/Write/Directory Browsing/Log visits and Index this resource selected.
What has got to be set to permit deletion of the install.php file?
I'm using Windows XP Pro SP3

Hi Damien

I'm afraid I don't have access to an IIS server - and it's not something we activly test or develop on so I'm afraid I can't answer your question directly.

Best guess would be that there's a specific permission either on the virtual directory or on the filesystem for deleting files (perhaps it needs Full Control?).

What I can say is that deleting install.php and upgrade.php are the last couple of steps in the process so the software is essentially installed already. You can safely delete install.php and upgrade.php and then you should be able to log in.

Thanks Alex,
I'm not quite sure what needs to be set to make the script succeed at the installation.
What I did do was just rename the two files incase I needed them.
I've done a few installs with different setting but haven't managed to find the correct one.
Thanks a million for getting back to me ... AND SO QUICKLY!
Absolutely love the software - definately going to try it out on campus.
