can't get full screen by default on W7

Asked by ultramo

I have started installing some displays with Windows 7 and more often then not, i get the task bar superposed over the xibo window, therefore in effect cutting the bottom of the ad, i have to go into the system and click on the ad so that it becomes the superior window.

Did not have this issue in xp, any ideas?????? I am running 1.0.6

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I read the question straight away when it came in but I don't have access to Windows 7 so don't have any experience of Xibo on it.

Dan however does and the active development is done on Windows 7 so I'd be suprised if there's a general problem. It's more likely to be something in your task bar or system tray poping up and getting window focus.

Maybe see if you can fall back to a windows classic style and see if that changes anything. Also maybe take a look at what's running in the system tray and see if you can identify a common factor (perhaps AntiVirus updating?)

Also see if you can tell the task bar not to be always on top and to autohide.

I guess it is my turn to appologize for the delayed response, i was overseas.

the only things i have running on the system tray is microsoft security essentials and go to assist so i can link to the system, but it seems to be about 80% of the time when the system restarts that the task bar stays on the bottom, it would seem that the always on top of the task bar is not negotiable in windows 7 (they removed the option)

Could really use a fix for this as i assume this will become a larger problem as more and more people move to 7.

Please help!

I am certain that there is no general problem with the Xibo client and covering the task bar. However, on start up it is possible that a program finishes loading after Xibo starts (and therefore brings the task bar to the foreground).

Perhaps you could delay the Xibo start up (or remove some of the other start up programs - go to assist for example) to narrow down the problem.

Can you help with this problem?
