Login light - 1.1.0 version

Hi, I´m trying 1.1.0 version with 1.0.7 client and works good, but the light in the displays list never go green, always is red.

Also in the log I have this message:

<errormsg>Only variables should be passed by reference</errormsg>
<errornum>2048</errornum>
<errortype>Runtime Notice</errortype>
<scriptname>C:\xampp\htdocs\xibo-server-1.1.0\3rdparty\php-gettext\gettext.php</scriptname>
<scriptlinenum>66</scriptlinenum>

I have other xibo server version 1.0.6 in the same pc and works perfectly

There was a bug like that a long time ago in 1.0 series. It may be that the fix never got ported forwards.

Can you see if the light goes green momentarily as you start a client running. If I remember correctly the bug was the light went green for 5 seconds rather than 5 minutes.

The error log you post is normal - the next version in the 1.1 series has an updated version of php-gettext which doesn't output that warning.

Dan confirms that the bug I'm thinking of is likely the cause. It'll be fixed in 1.1.1.

It's purely cosmetic - there's no actual underlying problem.

Thank you Alex. Then I´ll wait to the update, but it´s an important thing. Now I have 4 clients through internet and I check with the light at least in first time.

1.1.0 is a development preview release.

Please take a look at the URL below to see what that means:

"If you’re running Xibo in a production environment (ie it matters if the system breaks) then you should be running a stable release – at time of writing that would be 1.0.6."

So if it matters that you can't see the status of your clients then I'd say that's production use and you shouldn't be using a preview release.

As the article says, we fix bugs in DP releases as is convenient to the development of the series, not in the order bugs are found.

Yes the clients that I have are 1.0.6 but I´m trying the new version in other envioroment.
