how to get display with out connectiong to computer?

Asked by saththiyan@lankacom.net

I have a problem in connecting to client in remote site..

I have around 30 remote location in a building where i need to put the display and get the screen from server but its really practical issue in keeping 30 computer for 30 client display....and i don't think dragging VGA cable to all location also not possible... Is there any way to get the display with out putting computer in every location?

if we can drag a VGA cable to all the location will it be possible in practical because the length of those cables may go up to 50meters...

Any way of getting the display in those location? Any special unit which can connect to display and and server , may be a network unit...

You can send VGA over Cat5 cabling with appropriate equipment. You can then send it 150m or so.

Something like this: http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductID=661028

You'd also need a distribution amplifier to split the output of your one PC 30 times.

Other than that you'll have to put a PC in each location. The screens can't run off of thin air!

Other way is using standard coaxial wiring for analog television if there is a analog tuner in each of your screens (tvs).

Something like pc -> tv out -> rf av signal modulator -> (some analog tv infractructure with splitters and amplifiers) -> tvs

Of course display quality and possible resolution is much much lower when comparing to vga transmission.

Can you help with this problem?
