A question about client 1.0.7

Asked by howard

Dear Dan,

Sorry that I am new to VS C# and .Net. However, I have to check if client 1.0.7 can fix the problem I faced.
I used VS2005 to rebuild the client (since I cannot find the exe file in the release folder) but everytime the rebuild client cannot play flash files (just left blank). The problem does not happen for those embedded flash file code. I don't know why.
I have compared the MSI file with mine one by using install monitor software. I find that there are application data in user's application data folder where my MSI file does not do that automatically. Can I get a clue on how to rebuild the proper output?
       Thank you so much.

Howard

There's binaries for 1.0.7 here:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/353651/XiboClient-1.0.7-test.zip

It's not the final release version - just a version that addresees a serious flaw in 1.0.5 for people using text/tickers with UTF8 encoding.

You will still need to upgrade to 1.0.7 when it's released.

Dear Alex,

        Thank you so much.
Must I place it in the same program file directory? I have tried in the extracted folder but the flash files are blank. However, if I place into the same program file directory, it works. However, it does work for any other folder.
Just an interesting question. When I install the Xibo client 1.0.5 into folder other than default one (i.e. Xibo Player), the flash files cannot be displayed correctly. Anything tricky there?
Thank you for your prompt response.

Sorry for typo in the 2nd para. It should be "However, it doesn't work for any other folder".

You should extract the 1.0.7 files on to your 1.0.5 install folder.
