Will emulators and roms be incuded or at least playable on this system?

Asked by Exice

HI, I'm not sure this is the best place to ask this question... Will this system be able to load and use emulators for at the very least retro systems? I noticed you wouldn't support Wine out of the box and that’s fine, but I'm curious if a multi system emulator is possible to be played or even packaged with this system. Opening the door for retro playability out of the box is something nobody seems to be doing. And I don’t mean including Roms, but just the emulator(s). Just a thought I guess.

Emulators will definitely not be on the default system, and probably won't be officially supported. However, there is a framework on xeiso.com that allows for a community repository, and I don't see a problem with having legal emulators on there if someone wanted to upload one. This upload system is not yet active, but I could probably spend some time working on it more to get it running.

In addition, since Xeiso packages are standalone .xpk files, it would be easy for anyone to simply publish a binary somewhere for download.
