No date box for new transaction

WXbanker 0.9.1 on LInux Mint 17.3

There is no date chooser field or default date at my new transaction area. Just a calendar symbol that must be opened to choose a date. If I don't do this the transaction will be entered in the register at today's date which may not be appropriate. On another site I see an illustration showing a +/- spin-box for the date but it doesn't appear for me.

Please note I'm not a coder; a very old newbie.

This is rendered as a native control on your OS, so it will depend on if your OS has a spin-box for its date-picker. On some OSes you can also use the up/down arrows when focused in that control to adjust the date :)
