Dual boot problem with Ubuntu and Windows 7, selecting Ubuntu on boot only brings up grub.

Asked by Dave

I installed Windows 7 64 bit version first. Then installed ubuntu 9.10-desktop-amd64.iso with wubi.exe. wubi.exe downloaded ubuntu and then proceeded to install it after I selected the install size, user name and password. After rebooting I get a menu to boot windows 7 or ubuntu. Windows 7 boots up just fine if I select it, but if I select ubuntu then only grub boots up. Evidently grub can't find ubuntu? I have a grub command prompt but don't know grub well enough to proceed. Any suggestions?

Use ls ("LS" in lower case) to see if grub can access the filesystem. It will be looking for /ubuntu/install/grub/grub.cfg.

Can you help with this problem?
