Wubi pyrun.exe - clicked continue 10 times before launch...

Asked by muzak24h

Wubi problems on 64-bit Vista-U using Nvidia-7300 on Q6600 cpu and 8g-ram:

Had to click continue 10 times before Wubi would launch. Why?

I looked at it with Process Explorer and it shows pylA9EE.tmp.exe launched pyrun.exe with a 7zip extractor, then says can't access the install CD (in my case F:) - Is this rare problem? or is it related to my reader being a SATA device?

I dunno, seems like bad karma - I got up early to download and wanted to kick Windows on Karmic Koala's launch day. I'm having 2nd thoughts now... - C

The install finally ran, I clicked options after the username-password and it took me to a panel I had no interest in but found no way to get back to the previous. I clicked X to close that panel and found that Wubi had closed! I launched it again, then clicked continue another 10 times, did the name-pword entry again and after some questions, the install was done in about 12 minutes. Some may say "close this question" however, I would point-out that this simple lack of refinement is simple to cure and out-of-the-box it would give most newbie's some very bad first impressions...
That's the way to win the other side over - show them you're trying. If Mr. Shuttleworth has any project managers listening, things CAN and DO get better than this.

Windows could be low on ram or pyrun, exe is cached in temporary files. Run disk clean up.

I'm going to say this could have been the issue for now. As I now run win apps
virtualized in Ubuntu, thankfully this is no longer an issue for me to probe :-)
