Can't start Ubuntu or Xp (preinstalled by Wubi)

Asked by Jacopo

I tried installing Wubi on a XP Professionnal SP3 (Compaq 6710b) with Ubuntu 9.04 on a flash card. During installation the system froze and I had to restart.

At boot time, I have the choice between XP Professional and Ubuntu. If I choose XP I get the wicked blue screen and if I go for Ubuntu, I get nothing...

Is my boot sequence corrupted ? What can I do ?

Thanks...

Boot from a windows CD into recovery console, then run chkdsk /r
If you have ubuntu on a flash card you can use that to boot into linux, then you should be able mount the windows partition and backup any important file.

Thanks but I did recover my data with a Ubuntu Live CD previous to my problem.

In the mean time I had a "ghost" reinserted on my Hard drive...

Thanks for the tip and for your time !
