Your boot sector was overwritten by grub, which is a very nice boot loader (you'll need it if you want to have more than one Windows install on the same computer, for instance XP and Vista).

We need to install a new MBR... in the old dos/Win98 days FDISK /MBR worked (and still will if you have an old boot disk laying around), or you can start up your computer in safe mode. Reboot and hold down F8

Pull up a command prompt by going to Start>Run and type in cmd.exe and run.

Issue the following command:

fixmbr \Device\HardDisk0

You can also do this with WinPE, if you happen to have a WinPE disk laying around that you got from a Windows XP/Vista OEM 3pack :D

And now that you're using Windows, be sure to remember to do a clean install of windows every year. No, that has nothing to do with Ubuntu being on your system, that just has to do with Windows.

Hi :)

Hopefully Windows is still working just the same? The only problem is the boot-menu screen? When you try the ubuntu option that just boots straight into Windows too?

It sound like you installed Ubuntu inside Windows using the Wubi. Please use this guide Section 4 parts 1 & 2 should help restore the boot-menu.

Good luck and regards from
