wubi 9.04 129 does not work

I have a problem with Wubi on a Windows XP OS SP2. I downloaded manually a .ISO image of Ubuntu 9.04 and put it in the same directory of wubi. I set all the parameters and manteined the same language of the OS. All seemes to work fine (except for the very bad functioning of uninstall) but when WUBI is going to "create the virtual disks" it takes abount 2 hours and finally says error. I tried to enter the debug file (in /temp) but it is unreadable. Any suggestion? Thanks.

Error says: "bad file descriptor" and it takes about tree hours.

the log file generated is about 4 GB......just to open it I need about an hour!!!

It is sufficient to read the first block of the log file (say 10K), there is probably an error that happens repeatedly. I am not familiar with windows tools to split a file though

I have UBuntu installed in a Laptop conected to the computer on which I'm having problems. So how to split a file with linux?

I tried with split -l and obtained several files. I think this could be the error

Just would like to say that I had about 19 GB free in the partition. And that wubi 8.10 worked without problems (with the same free space and with the same space assigned to Ubuntu - 9 GB).

Is C: also fat32? It looks like the issue is that the C: filesystem was not identified as fat32 and therefore the virtual disk size has not been limited to 4GB, which is the file size limit on fat32.

Yes I thouth it. But I would like to have more space for Ubuntu (thinking that allocate 4GB will limit ubuntu space). Wubi 8.10 worked fine. Have I to wait for a future release of wubi?

I wonder if it is a wubi 9.04 problem or a FS problem (on FAT32 wubi does not work if I allocate more than 4 gb). The fact is that 8.10 version worked properly. Waiting for a suggestion.

It is an fat32 limit, the wubi issue seems to be that it didn't notice that the filesystem was fat32, otherwise you would have end up with a 4GB file.
