I need to remove the ubuntu linux partion from my 60 gig laptop

Asked by Rodney Horton

I partitioned my Toshiba A 75 60 gig hard drive 25MSN--35Linux. when I installed Ubuntu (kernel 2.6.12-9.386). I need the machine for field use with vendor supplied Windows software. I have no opportunity use the linux partition in the future on this machine. I don't have enough space left to defrag the
hard drive.

I have backup of the data on the Ubuntu partition. (I use OOo software.)

How do I remove the linux partition from this machine, without reformatting the windows partition?

The suggestion sudo apt-get uninstall-ubuntu-desktop received "invalid operation" messages. (I used single spaces between commands.)

I'm looking into the "Partition Magic" possibility.

Thanks, I'm off the dime. Rod

hi

again im a noob but this may do it

sudo apt-get uninstall

if an errror in uninstall occures try

to sudo auto-clean which will get rid of some of your packages

if you try sudo apt get- install -f

and then

unistall -v

or aptitude -help

or run your windows disk

peace =]

there is a solution it may be configuringe an error to aquire the result

you could also try to manually remove the kernel with instruction by typing kernels kernel -help

Can you help with this problem?
