Ubuntu will not boot

Asked by Qazster

Hello, I have 4 harddrives, one IDE 160 GB, 2 40 GB Raid 0, and one 80 GB SATA. When I install ubuntu, it installs fine, but when it reboots I have to use Super GRUB Loader to get to the actual boot menu to choose my operating system. When I choose ubuntu it say "Hard Drive not found" or something along those lines. Any help? Oh, also I installed Ubuntu to my 80 GB SATA, It has nothing else on it.

I finally messed around enough so that I figured out that ubuntu thinks I installed it on hd3 but i do not have a hd3, with my RAID hard drive it only goes to hd2 and that is what I installed it on, so do you guys know why it does that?

See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/WubiGuide#head-b53faf3bd2a3da641d3424708bc35406c355dfb1
Keep in mind that you cannot install Wubi within a software raid 0 (fakeraid).

I installed XUBUNTU four days ago. Finally connected to the internet last night and when I rebooted this morning my screen reads:
"Operating System no found." I really dio not want to reinstall XUBUNTU. I already checked start up and it looks for my HD first as it should. This is a very simple and old DELL Inspiron 3500 with a 20GB HD and19M of RAM. It's been stable for 4 days and nw this. Any thoughts or ideas out there are greatly appreciated.

Try to run chkdsk /r from Windows. Also check for hidden files called found000.

Can you help with this problem?
