windows 8 install problem
Just installed latest version on a new Windows 8 HP laptop. On reboot (and subsequent reboots) after selecting Ubuntu I get a Windows warning about failed install due to missing file: ubuntu\
Where do I go from here?
Thanks,

I suggest you chkdsk your NTFS partition

Wubi doesn't work on computers with GPT disks. Newer Windows 8 computers all use GPT disks - if it uses secure boot then it definitely has a GPT disk.
In this case you cannot use Wubi, but you can install a normal dual boot. If you use secure boot, you have to use the 64bit Ubuntu. Please research this first via google to confirm how to do it. e.g. https:/
