Ubuntu 12.04 does not load after installation inside Windows Xp (Sp3) System halts with the message (Hd0,0) "Prefix" Is not set

The linked bug report relates to the 'prefix not set' error message. However this happens on all wubi installs and is not related to your problem. When you say the system 'halts', how long have you waited. Give it a couple of minutes. Usually it doesn't take longer than a couple of seconds, but some people have reported a more lengthy delay. In these cases it usually helps to copy the C:\wubildr file to the root of your first partition.

Thanks. I had to wait about 2 minutes for the first boot but now it takes just a few seconds. I will be more patient in the future. Thanks a lot for your help.

Not be dumb or anything but how do you copy the C:\wubildr file to the root of your first partion
