I have down loaded WABI to try Ubuntu alongside my Vista Ultimate but when I try to run it Pyrun keeps asking for a disc and I cannot close the message and need to restart the system to get rid of the message

I suggest you download the Ubuntu desktop ISO, MD5 test it then install magicdisk or daemontools and mount the ISO, you can then run Wubi (Not Wabi) from there and it will be fine.

was all a bit goobleyde gook so gave up as I could not get any thing to work. Am closing this report as have ordered a set of discs to avoid wasting any more time. Find it amazing that Microsoft does not allow Vista to produce a simple boot disc for something other than Vista.

This seems to be a known bug that's been around in some form since 2009 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/365881). I'm both a bit surprised and appalled that the Wubu teal hasn't given this more priority. Users shouldn't have to 'work around' this issue anymore, it should be fixed.

To address your issue though, just keep clicking either 'cancel' or 'continue' and eventually, they error will go away and you should be able to do what you need to do.
