Install unbutu 11.10 on fully PGP encrypted drive

Asked by Praveen Kandallu

I am currently running windoows XP with drives completely PGP encrypted. When I run the wubi installer I am unable to install as it fails to boot in to ubuntu. It gives me option to select but after that it fails.

Is this a valid install? I mean on a fully encrypted drive?

If the drive is unencrypted by a program that runs after windows boots then it won't work to run Wubi or Ubuntu. When you run Ubuntu with Wubi it's like a normal dual boot (windows isn't running - except for the initial install phase). Hope that helps.

Thnx much! I have used wubi to install and have installed Ubuntu for dual boot. But on boot i get a black screen which says something like 'cannot load media us/sd1/' etc etc. how do i get rid of this?

You could try installing on an external drive (that's not encrypted). Or create a partition that isn't encrypted.
