Ubuntu Wubi is not responsive after login

Asked by G Luz

Hi.
I've installed Ubuntu Wubi a week ago and yesterday I got to fully install everything into it.
After I shutdown my computer and ran it again (when I was back home) I logged in and everything I get is the purple screen with nothing on it.
No error messages, no menus, nothing.
The Ctrl+Alt+Del still offer to logout and when I press the shutdown key on my laptop, I get the shutdown menu. But that it.

I will appreciate your help,
Thanks.

Is this 11.10?
Try resetting unity: after logging in hit Ctrl+Alt+T to get to a terminal, and enter:
unity --reset

It is 11.10.
the Ctrl+Alt+T didn't work.
I used the Ctrl+Alt+F1 and then ran the command.
It ran till the line "Initializing composite options...done" but then didn't return prompt.
After a while I got and error: "Aggregation not enabled for tid..." but I'm not sure it is related.
I'm currently stuck on this and not sure how to proceed.

Thanks for the help.

Great, glad it's fixed. But don't ever hard reset like that. If you catch it at a bad time, the root.disk (virtual disk wubi users) could be corrupted, possibly irreparably. Instead hold down Alt+SysRq and press R-E-I-S-U-B
