Ubuntu restart problem installed with Wubi on windows XP

When I'm installing ubuntu 11.04 on window XP, I observed the following message on the screen after restarting the PC
Kernel panic-not syncing IO-APIC + timer doesn't work Boot with apic =debug and send a report. Then try booting with 'noapic' option.

though, have you tested using the alternate installer?

Use the 'noapic' kernel boot option. This thread describes how (post #8) is specific to Wubi's first time boot: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1613132
