Install fail, cant enter kubuntu, cant uninstall from windows

Asked by vic arul

Hi guys im new to kubuntu. Previously I had used ubuntu but formatted and wanted to try kubuntu.

Installed using wubi on my windows 7 but when rebooting froze on log off screen for a long time. I forced it to switch of then when i started it again and entered the kubuntu partition all i get is a screen full of dots. I had to force switch off again, then enter into win7. Here i tried to reinstall but it gives some error at start, tried to find the uninstall from the control panel but its not there, and i cannot find any way to delete the partition.

If someone could help me out that would be great.

Cheers,
Vic

If you use Win7 the app you need is called 'Programs and features', it was renamed from 'Add/Remove programs' for some unknown and stupid reason. Does that help.

What GPU do you use, it will probably explain why you are getting the issue and it is easily fixable.

Ok so after I made the first post I deleted the c\ubuntu file and than ran wubi installer again. this time it worked and i ran the kubuntu installation again. this time the comp restarted but came up with some error i cant remember. so i managed to uninstall it and then i ran wubi again and installed ubuntu successfully. however, now when i hasve the choice of which partition to enter, i have win7, ubuntu and kubuntu. the kubuntu obviously doesnt work and i want to remove this and/or install it properly.

Use bcdedit or easybcd to remove the kubuntu entry.

Can you help with this problem?
