McAfee should alert for a virus called Windows ROTFL.
Seriously, download it here:
http://releases.ubuntu.com/oneiric/wubi.exe

If McAfee will have problem again, just disable it.

That link also gives a virus alert. It is not ROTFL but New Win32. Are you sure it is safe?

Yes, its safe, I've checked MD5 and it's ok:
here is all the MD5:

5e427f31e6b10315ada74094e8d5d483 *ubuntu-11.10-alternate-amd64.iso
24da873c870d6a3dbfc17390dda52eb8 *ubuntu-11.10-alternate-i386.iso

39656579e3b55b7cac29e191ac83ef92 *wubi.exe

This is the MD5 for wubi.exe:
enry@enry-ubuntu:~/Scrivania$ md5sum wubi.exe
39656579e3b55b7cac29e191ac83ef92 wubi.exe
enry@enry-ubuntu:~/Scrivania$

Like you see, it's the same.

Did somebody really downloaded and installed the wubi.exe recently, with the antivirus disabled and nothing bad happened?

Read this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MD5

It's TOTALLY secure. I suggest you to change antivirus.
If the MD5 is the same, the file that you have downloaded is the same file that the developer of Ubuntu have uploaded. And I've checked the MD5 of the downloaded Wubi.exe with the MD5 on the Ubuntu site:
http://releases.ubuntu.com/oneiric/MD5SUMS

I'm running Mcafee viruscan version 15 build 15.0.294 Dat version 6533.0000 and it has no problems with the file.

I submitted the latest WUBI to virustotal, 0/42 virus programs found that the file was harmful. It's just a mcafee false positive, no worries, just tell mcafee to ignore the file. I commented on your bug report as well.

Can you help with this problem?
