Installed Ubuntu (Run on Windows), now i want to install as a operating system, not a Virtual Machine and restore

Asked by Adi Popescu

I was using Windows but I needed Linux for my work. I installed Ubuntu (Run it from Windows) - and I guess this runs like a Virtual Machine. I am very happy with the latest Ubuntu, but now I need to install it as a Operating System (it is not fast enough). I want to keep all my files from the Run it from Windows version - from Appereance options to the installed software and more. To do this I guess I'll have to do a Backup to the whole System File ("/"). It will work? I really don't want to lose any data/setting.

So, it will work?
