installation crashed - wubi

Installer crashes when installing ubuntu.
Details:
I am installing wubi on a machine with windows xp. I formatted my e:\ drive with FAT32 partitioning.
Put the ubuntu-11.04-desktop-i386.iso file and the wubi.exe in the e: folder with same folder level.
I am unable to find the /var/log/syslog and /var/log/partman files.
I am new to linux, but need to install it. Thanks in advance.

What is the error message? When the installer crashes, drop to a shell Ctrl+Alt+F2 and collect the logs:
sudo zip -r /host/ubuntu/installation-logs.zip /var/log
Without knowing what the error is this bug is not specific enough to let someone work on it. E.g. it could be due to a partitioning error on your hard drive (not a bug) or it could be a hardware incompatibility that is already logged as a bug elsewhere.

You might do better to create an Ubuntu CD/USB, boot from it and select "Try it" (without installing) - this will let you run Ubuntu on your computer without installing and confirm that it is compatible.

 Wubi is now working although it showed error previously in the installation process. I dont know what happened. Its working perfectly.
