Windows 7 Wubi loaded Ubuntu 11.04 Amd64 Build boots to Busybox after update-manager -d to Ubuntu O.O. 11.10 Beta 1 how do I fix it ?

Asked by miked

I have a Compaq Presario CQ62-423NR Laptop and it has Windows 7 premium or something minimal like that pre-installed, I put Wubi on it and loaded Ubuntu Natty Narwhal Final 11.04 Amd64.iso build and then tried to update it to the current Ubuntu 11.10 Beta 1 build, after updating it not goes into Busybox and I don't know how to fix it from there. This usually means a re-install for me, but I actually would like to learn how to fix it with Busybox. I have downloaded a script I found to give a result.txt, but don't know where to send that, I will try here. Can someone point me where to look to fix it from here ?

I tried the shift option and found that I can get to recovery grub option. It told me that windows was probably not shutdown right, even though utility partition programs told me partitions were clean. I will boot into windows 7 and try chkdsk /r and see what happens
