No root file system is defined.

Please correct this from the partitioning menu.

I suggest you run a full scandisk in Windows to make sure the data is consistent.

Got the same problem as rythreion. Tried scandisk but made no difference.
Running a RAID 0 configuration for my Windows with 2 x 1TB Samsung F3 drives on an ABIT IP35 Pro Motherboard.

You can try uninstalling Wubi and re-installing it.

This is usually due to:
1. unsupported raid setup (e.g. RAID 10) or no raid but raid metadata exists
2. partition table minor error (e.g. overlapping partitions)
3. mix of MBR and GPT partition tables (e..g reused drive from MAC converted to MBR partition table)

Not sure why it would work with 10.10 and not with 11.04. That's a bit strange. Anyway the best way to diagose that I know is to run the bootinfoscript: http://bootinfoscript.sourceforge.net/
Post the results to http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/ and the pastebin address back here.

When i said i had the same problem i was referring to the error message rythreion got. On checking this morning attempting to install version 10.10 also gives the same error message.
Apologies if i caused any confusion.

Les Senior. I was actually answering rythreion's question. I did throw in a Raid bit for your benefit though. That's why it's best to create your own question.

So, rythreion, please provide the bootinfoscript. (if you have a 10.04 or 10.10 install that'll be fine to run the script, or else boot an Ubuntu CD/USB in live mode = select "Try it" without installing).

And Les, I believe your issue will be somewhere in that raid link I posted - follow the bug report links and see if they apply. If not, please create a new question and you'll probably get more appropriate answers that relate specifically to your particular problem.

Thanks
