I installed Ubuntu, via Wubi on my new pc. Can I change boot loader graphics from text?

Asked by Jefferson L. Gomez

i recently dual booted my new comp, i.e windows 7/Ubuntu using Wubi. Do not like the text only screen at start up option. Can I change the graphics and which program will allow me to do this or do I manually type it in?

You may be able to use BURG but it is a 3rd party app and is not supported in ANY of the official ubuntu channels. Considering the boot selection is on the screen for all of 2 seconds when you choose the boot loader I think you are risking a non-booting system for something so ultimately trivial.

Your call though

My advice is to leave it alone. The first screen is the Windows boot manager. The second is Grub.
I've seen many broken wubi installs from people who try to mess with either. In fact, I've seen many that can no longer boot Windows or Ubuntu.

Although I've seen some info that burg supports wubi I've never heard of a wubi install that works with it - most users install burg to the MBR and stop both OSes booting.

If you want a single boot manager, don't use Wubi. Then you'll have only see the Grub menu at startup, and grub2 has plenty of graphic options.

Can you help with this problem?
