Cannot Install 10.04.2 After uninstall using Wubi

Asked by Chuck Zellers

I was using 10.4 and did an upgrade to 11.04.

After the upgrade I lost my FireFox Favorites.

I could not get the html favorites from FireFox to load into 11.04
I uninstalled 11.04 using the Windows 7 program uninstall utility.

I then tried to reinstall 11.04.

After aprox one hour I received the message "An error occurred permission denied". For more information see log file:

c:\users\chuckp\pri\appdata\local\temp\wubi 11.08-rev211.log

Then I tried installing 10.04.2 via DVD and got the same message. Can you help? Thank you

Use an ubuntu 11.04 install disk, install ubuntu on the entire disk (thus deleting the entire previous OS). That should fix the problem.

Where can I get such a disk? Can I download it? Thank you

My apologies, I made the assumption you had the disk.

Go to www.ubuntu.com, and follow the download links to the correct download for your computer architecture (32 or 64 bit). Then burn that to a dvd or usb, following the instructions on the website.
That will then allow you to do an install on your computer.

If you still want to install within Windows (using Wubi), then please open windows explorer and enter %temp% in the address bar, then locate the log file wubi-11.04-rev211.log - open this in Notepad and copy and paste the contents to http://pastebin.ubuntu.com and then copy the browser address and paste it back here so I can review the log.

Can you help with this problem?
