So you want to convert wubi to a true install?

Yes that is correct it currently appears to be installed over the windows shell.

You can use LPVM for this:
http://lubi.sourceforge.net/lvpm.html

You should back up your documents and other important files (e.g., music, videos) first, just in case.

However, if you only recently installed your Wubi system and you haven't customized it extensively, you may find it easier simply to start fresh, by booting from an Ubuntu live CD/DVD/USB and installing Ubuntu 11.04 to the whole disk (erasing the existing Windows and Wubi systems).

Correction: "You can use LPVM" --> "You can use LVPM"

@bcbc
That's good to know. I'll make sure not to recommend it anymore. Thanks!

@Mark Clancy
As bcbc says, you should use the advice at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/WubiGuide#How%20do%20I%20migrate%20to%20a%20real%20partition%2C%20and%2For%20get%20rid%20of%20Windows%20entirely%3F instead of using LVPM.
