You're suppose to burn it onto a CD for it to work. Then insert the disk into the drive.

@Jason. Please, when you encounter a question about Wubi, link question to "project Wubi", as I have just done. So bcbc will be able to answer. He is very expert about Wubi. If you are also interested on some domain, you could subscribe packets. In this case, tell me and I will ask other triagers to pay attention to link question to your chosen packets.

@George: I will not answer answer question about Wubi, as I'm not able to do. But I'm curious to know why you choose Wubi instead of installation alongside Windows, in a virtual machine or a Live CD.

The first problem is due to the presence of a MMC device or something else plugged into the computer where there is a drive letter assigned, but size of zero. Removing the device usually prevents the error.

The second error... I'll need to see the log file info.

But note that there has been a problem with the wubi.exe available from http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/get-ubuntu/windows-installer - this was fixed last night, but there may be some download mirrors still affected. So if the release shows 10.04.1 (top middle) when you run it, it will not work. You can get 10.10 from releases.ubuntu.com/maverick or 10.04.2 from releases.ubuntu.com/lucid

It's also possible to download the desktop CD iso yourself for the release you want and burn it to CD, create a bootable USB or just place it in the same directory as wubi.exe. This is a good idea because you can reuse it if you need (and having a bootable CD/USB is good too)

Can you help with this problem?
