Did you md5sum the downloaded iso?
Did you burn the CD as slowly as possible?
(And when you get a booting disk, run the mediacheck option before trying to install from it).

I tried all that, now I went little more on installation, it goes as far as asking me to choose either ubuntu or windows, and when i choose ubuntu it loads but then another error messages lot longer than the first one comes on. I will start to freshly start the installation. lets see what happens but so far downloading and installing ubuntu is proving to be a difficult job!!!

"choose either ubuntu or windows" is not a choice any installation disk I have ever seen offers. Does the first line on the choice screen say "Grub" somewhere? If so, your installation was successful. Now it appears you have a first boot problem. You need to provide more detail on the errors, and when they occur for anyone to help.

I suggest you post on a Windows forum for your activation expiration, or call Microsoft to get re-activated. Lucid is LTS so is supported longer

Can you help with this problem?
