Is this a new Ubuntu problem, or have you never been able to boot your Ubuntu?

If you have never booted Ubuntu, please copy and paste c:\boot.ini (right click My computer, Properties, Advanced tab, click Settings under Startup & Recovery, click on Edit to view c:\boot.ini).
Caution: make sure you do not edit the file

If you have booted Ubuntu before, but it's stopped booting since running Updates, run chkdsk and try again. (Go to My computer, right click on Windows C: drive, Properties, Tools, Check disk for errors, Automatically fix... reboot immediately to let check disk run).

If your computer is not booting at all: you are getting a grub rescue prompt instead. Then you need to reinstall the Windows bootloader: insert Windows repair CD, boot to a repair prompt, run "fixmbr".
