Windows Installer version installed properly, but won't launch.

Asked by holy_roller

I installed Ubuntu with the Windows Installer, and it downloaded and installed just fine. I rebooted it and that installation worked just fine as well. However, when I rebooted it again to launch Ubuntu, I was given a BOIS screen with the choices 'Windows Vista' and Ubuntu'. Upon choosing Ubuntu I was redirected to another BIOS screen with two options.

Windows Recovery Enviroment (loader) (on/dev/sda1)
Windows Vista (loader) (on/dev/sda1)

The first option redirects me to the first BIOS screen (with the OS choices)

The second option launches the Windows Recovery Options.

I'm new to Linux/Ubuntu, and I don't know if I missed a major step or not.

Thanks in advance for your help.

May help:

Fixing grub in wubi is VERY hard as the bootloader is still windows. If you had a true install then the operation is a million times easier.

I uninstalled, then reinstalled, and it works fine now.
