Wubi Installer Trouble

Asked by Manuel Villanueva

I am running a Windows 7 Home Premium PC (64-bit) without a CD drive and when I try to use the Wubi installer it says it cannot download the metalink and the ISO. I have been trying to mess around and fix it but I haven't had any luck with it. Does someone have a fix for this issue.

Did you MD5 test the wubi installer?
Did you MD5 test the ISO you are using?

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM

The CD has a self check to make sure its OK. I am now guessing you have NOT checked your ISO. You have downloaded a VERY sensitive piece of information over the web, TCP does a good job of avoiding packet issues but some my get through and added to the file, this will mangle your file but you have gone right ahead and used it.

There are ways to check your data is right, one is MD5sum testing to make sure the data is right, if the <D5 generated off your file does not match exactly to the one on the hases link then the data is BAD and needs redownloading.

Once you have checked your data we can pus forward but the data needs checking. Please tell 2 people about MD5 testing and have them tell 2 people.

Thanks
