Problem with Installation of Wubi (Latest Version)

Asked by weehzy

I downloaded Wubi from the website and installed it, I have Windows Vista Preinstalled, the installation went fine, taking up almost 2 hours including the download.. after the installation was complete (I was hoping it was) a black screen comes up..

* Stopping kernel Oops catching service kerneloops
* Shutting down ALSA. . . _ (blinking cursor)

I have been waiting for 2 hours and it just stays there, pressed all the buttons, still there, im afraid to force shut down it cos it myt corrupt the installation and forcing me to download the installer again (which is not small for 70kbps download speed). Should I force turn off my laptop, or (I hate to say this) should i wait longer. Thanks.

Remove wubi and clear the temporary files using disk clean up. Use msconfig to remove ubuntu boot loader.Give it another go.
Hope this helps.
