where can I download wubi for 12.04

Asked by g00gle

Hello,

I've downloaded Lubuntu Precise desktop CD (i386) yesterday. I see wubi.exe, but "Install inside Windows" option is gone. As far as I remembered, "Install inside Windows" option was present in Lubuntu Precises daily build CD a month ago. Unfortunately, I've deleted my previous ISO, and removed the installed Lubuntu to test the latest daily build CD.

I want to use Lubuntu with wubi again, but I can't find the wubi download link for 12.04 on Ubuntu website or sourceforge. I don't want to download another CD just for wubi.exe file. I would be grateful if someone gives me the download link for wubi or upload the old wubi.exe from early build.

Thanks

FYI the option to install Wubi from the live CD has been removed - see attached bug report.

You can probably force it still. e.g. if your DVD drive is D:, do this from a command prompt:
D:\wubi.exe --force

Or just copy wubi.exe from the CD to your hard drive and run it from there.

PS this workaround probably will only be valid for 12.04 - the idea is to replace the wubi.exe on the CD with a different program in later releases. Just a quick 'hobble' for 12.04.

My mistake: it should be:
D:\wubi.exe --force-wubi
