Clicking on the date with Calendar Icon

[Freya stable] In the date indicator, clicking on the first menu item with the green and white calendar icon doesn't open the Calendar App. Is it the intended behavior or is it a bug?

This is a bug it should open Maya.
I have placed the question by the right project.
